By collaborating with Novanta, DOK-ING gained
access to cutting-edge encoder technology and
engineering expertise, ensuring that the MVF5 could deliver consistent performance and
enhance safety for 昀椀rst responders.
THE SOLUTION
To enhance its 昀椀re昀椀ghting capabilities, DOK- ING
implemented Novanta’s IncOder® Inductive
Angle Encoders for precise position feedback
and motion control. These advanced encoders
enabled smooth, real-time control of the MVF-5’s
hydraulic rotating actuators, ensuring accurate
maneuverability in hazardous environments.
The MVF-5’s manipulator arm, equipped with a
water and foam spray system, relied on
IncOder’s feedback to target 昀椀res with pinpoint
accuracy, improving suppression effectiveness.
Equally critical was the encoder’s robust
design, which maintained reliable performance
in extreme conditions: from intense heat
and smoke to moisture-heavy, debris-laden
environments. This integration allowed the
MVF-5 to perform consistently where human
intervention was unsafe. By combining
autonomy with reliable precision, DOK-ING
transformed robotic 昀椀re昀椀ghting into a safer,
more effective solution, setting a new standard
